Detailed Travel Plan 7 Days Wildlife primate Watching

7 Days Rwanda Uganda Gorilla Safari starts from Kigali Rwanda to cover national parks like Akagera, Mgahinga & Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. 6 nights Stay in Luxury Lodges in Uganda & Rwanda on a combined multi-country trip to East Africa guided by professional safari Guides of the local Safari Company that has experience in primate Safaris.

Day 1: Pick Up from Kigali International airport

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by the safari guide of primate Safari experiences and transfer to your hotel in Kigali, later in the evening you will do Kigali city tour and explore the genocide memorials. Relax at the lodge, Serena Hotel Kigali/ Marriot Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Akagera National Park a journey that takes you 2-3 hours with en-route views of the green vegetation, Rolling Hills of Rwanda, and birds. On reaching Kayonza, break off for lunch then later proceed to experience an afternoon to evening Game Drive watching wildlife animals wander around their natural habitat. After the drive, proceed to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Wake up early have breakfast then transfer to the Park to enjoy a Game Drive along the various tracks watching wildlife wandering around their habitat. The wildlife you watch here include; giraffes, kobs, small antelope, warthogs, lions, elephants, etc. After your Game Drive, break off for lunch and later transfer to lake Ihema to enjoy an afternoon Boat Cruise which offers you sightings of Hippos and Crocodiles beneath the water. After the adventure which will have rewarded you exploring the big five in Rwanda , transfer back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight,  Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

After morning breakfast, you will do an en-route game drive as you move out of the park searching for other wildlife animals and big five and later proceed to drive to volcanoes national park the top known safari place for mountain gorillas, golden monkey & other primates.

The Primate drive from Akagera to volcanoes will take 4 hours with lunch planned to be held in Kigali Rwanda to relax and proceed the next 2 hours to arrive at volcanoes national park, Dinner and overnight at Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes Rwanda

After Morning breakfast, you will head straight to the park headquarter where you will receive a briefing about the golden monkey tracking rules and regulations and later proceed to start the hike through the forest to search for the golden monkey, once found you will spend good time , later you will return to the hotel for Hot lunch and later proceed to cross the border to Uganda ‘s favorite destination for primate safaris. The Safari Guide will check you in at Lake Mutanda Safari Lodge, Relaxing in the evening.

Day 6: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi National Park

Wake up in the morning with a ready mind to explore the mountain gorillas in the wilderness of Bwindi Impenetrable national park located in southern Uganda, Most the traveler is trekking gorillas in the southern sector of the park.  After morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations and later enter into the jungle to search for the gorillas in the wilderness of Bwindi.

Gorilla Habituation in the jungle takes a minimum of 4 hours from the time you have come in contact with the gorillas and you will walk with the gorillas for the 4 hours and gorilla habituation is only possible in Uganda mainly in Bwindi.

Travelers that are going for gorilla habituation should be aware that gorilla briefing and registration start at 7:00 am in the morning . Once the gorillas are found and watched for the 4 hours , the driver guide will return you to lodge for relaxation at Gahinga Lodge and dinner & Overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park.

Wake up have breakfast then transfer to Mgahinga National Park headquarters for briefing around the gorilla trekking in their natural vegetation habitat. After the transfer in groups with a park ranger to track the gorillas for 2-5 hours in the forest and when you meet them, take many photos to keep for memories. After tracking you will return to the lodge for lunch and start driving back to Kigali the afternoon drop in the airport for flight back home.
